Join us in welcoming Cortney Mabry as our new Grants and Communications Manager. Cortney was born and raised in Fort Collins and earned her degree in Sociology and Spanish from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For the past seven years, she has been with The Gathering Place, Denver’s only service provider specifically supporting women, gender-diverse people, and their children.
Cortney started as a volunteer at The Gathering Place and went on to serve in various roles, including volunteer management and, most recently, overseeing community and corporate grants and partnerships. In December 2024, she completed her Master’s in Communication from Regis University.
“I’m thrilled to join the Brent’s Place team and to combine my grant writing and communication skills with my passion for supporting families in crisis. As the daughter of medical professionals and with a background in human services, I understand the importance of providing social-emotional support, financial relief, and comprehensive care to families who need a home away from home during medical treatment. I’m honored to contribute to the mission-driven work of Brent’s Place.”
When Cortney isn’t raising money for important causes, she enjoys reading, walking, hiking, baking, cheering on the Colorado Rockies, and relaxing at home with her husband, Ben, and their adorable orange tabby cat, Walden.
