Our Story

From Loss to Life: The Story of Brent’s Place

In 1997 Donn and Linda Eley founded the Brent Eley Foundation to honor their son, Brent, who bravely fought Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. After Brent’s passing, their grief sparked a “Big Idea”: to create a safe haven for families traveling far from home for cancer treatment – a place to stay together during their journey.

That Big Idea became Brent’s Place and, since then, we’ve supported more than 2,000 families from across the nation.

Community Expectations

At Brent’s Place we believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and made to feel heard, valued, and that they belong.

In order to make this true, we promise to actively practice allyship, challenge inequities, and give everyone the opportunity to contribute how they are able. We expect everyone who enters our doors to respect each other, these beliefs, and the actions we take to protect them. This means we will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment based on, but not limited to the following:

  • ability
  • age
  • class
  • gender/gender identity
  • nationality or ancestry
  • pregnancy/family status

We are committed to ensuring that Brent’s Place is always a place of hope and healing for all.
