Join us in welcoming Justin Burry, Kelvin Bashford, Liz Kroeker, and Tina Rushing to the Brent’s Place team. Justin joins as Philanthropy Manager, Annual Fund; Kelvin joins as Weekend Hospitality Coordinator; Liz joins as Administrative Coordinator, Capital Campaign; and Tina joins as Community Engagement Coordinator.
Justin Burry, Philanthropy Manager, Annual Fund, recently relocated from Fort Collins to the Denver metro area with his family. Joining the External Affairs team, Justin brings a background in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations, most recently serving as Director of Individual Giving at United Way of Larimer County. His experience includes major gifts, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, and annual giving. He also holds a master’s degree in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from Colorado State University with a focus on nonprofit management.
“I’m excited to be part of an organization with such a meaningful mission and the opportunity to build relationships that directly support families facing incredibly difficult circumstances,” says Justin. “I hope to contribute by building strong relationships that help sustain and grow that impact.”
Outside of work, Justin enjoys hiking, watching baseball, spending time with his wife and two young boys, playing music, and painting.
Kelvin Bashford, Weekend Hospitality Coordinator, is originally from Chicago and has called the Denver metro area home since 2018. While he officially joins the Brent’s Place team as the Nighttime Weekend Hospitality Coordinator, Kelvin is no stranger to Brent’s Place. He has supported our families and facility for nearly a year as a contractor. Kelvin brings a background in the U.S. Navy, law enforcement, security, facility management, and customer service, providing a unique combination of experience for his role.
“I’m excited to join Brent’s Place because of the teamwork and positive energy,” says Kelvin. “I’m looking forward to working together to achieve our goals and make a positive impact for the families we serve.”
You’ll find Kelvin at the front desk—and throughout campus—as he helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for families during weekend overnight hours.
In his free time, Kelvin enjoys bowling, playing pickleball, and going for walks.
Liz Kroeker, Administrative Coordinator, Capital Campaign, is originally from Fort Morgan, Colorado. Joining the External Affairs team, Liz brings more than 10 years of marketing experience, with extensive expertise in project coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and managing initiatives that support organizational goals. Combined with degrees in Web Design and Surgical Technology, her diverse professional and educational background has given her a unique blend of creative, technical, and organizational skills.
“I’m excited to join an organization that has such a meaningful impact on the lives of families facing difficult circumstances,” says Liz. “I’m passionate about helping things run smoothly behind the scenes so the organization can continue making an even greater difference for the families served.”
Outside of work, Liz enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends, reading, getting outdoors, exploring new places, and trying new experiences.
Tina Rushing, Community Engagement Coordinator, is originally from Weirton, West Virginia, in the Northern Panhandle near Pittsburgh. Tina brings a technical theatre degree from Bethany College and spent the past nine years travelling the country registering individuals for the bone marrow registry at music festivals and concerts. Joining the External Affairs team, Tina will support outreach efforts, coordinate volunteer activities, and lead the execution of events and partnership deliverables.
“I’m excited to be part of such a caring group of people,” says Tina. “I’m a people person by nature, so having opportunities to make an impact is important to me.”
Outside of work, Tina enjoys attending live theatre and live music performances, spending time in nature, and caring for her four dogs—Walter, Lilly, Kit, and Thelma. She’s also looking forward to rediscovering the hobbies she loves as she settles into this new chapter.
